1. About FiledRight

FiledRight (filedright.in) is a collaborative tax compliance platform that helps Indian Chartered Accountants collect documents from clients, extract structured data using AI, generate compliance checklists, and track filing progress. By using FiledRight, you agree to these terms.

2. Who can use FiledRight

  • Chartered Accountants (CAs): Can sign up, create a practice, invite team members, create client Spaces, and manage compliance workflows.
  • Clients: Invited by their CA via email. Can access their own Space to upload documents, view checklists, and communicate with their CA.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password or magic link with anyone. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password immediately and contact us at privacy@filedright.in.

4. Your data

You own the data you upload to FiledRight. This includes documents, client profiles, extracted data, messages, and internal notes. FiledRight does not claim any ownership over your content.

You grant FiledRight a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of delivering the service (document storage, AI extraction, checklist generation, messaging). This licence terminates when you delete your data or close your account.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload documents that are fraudulent, forged, or illegally obtained.
  • Use the platform to facilitate tax evasion or any illegal activity.
  • Attempt to access other users' data or Spaces without authorisation.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform's operation.
  • Use automated tools to access the platform beyond normal usage patterns.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. What FiledRight is not

FiledRight is a document collection, extraction, and compliance tracking tool. It is not:

  • A tax filing service. FiledRight does not file GST returns, ITRs, or any other tax documents on your behalf.
  • A provider of tax, legal, or financial advice. The compliance checklists and rules are informational and should not be treated as professional advice.
  • A replacement for professional judgment. CAs are responsible for verifying extracted data and making filing decisions.

7. AI extraction accuracy

FiledRight uses AI (Google Gemini) to extract structured data from uploaded documents. While we strive for high accuracy, AI extraction is not perfect. Extracted data should always be reviewed and verified by the CA before use. FiledRight is not liable for errors in AI-extracted data that were not caught during the review process.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep FiledRight available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, FiledRight shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, missed filing deadlines, penalties imposed by tax authorities, or any damages resulting from reliance on AI-extracted data. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to FiledRight in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Data export and deletion

CAs can export client data from any active Space at any time. CAs can archive or permanently delete Spaces. Clients can export their own data from their Space. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at privacy@filedright.in.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases. We will retain your data for a reasonable period to allow data export, after which it will be permanently deleted.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of FiledRight after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of FiledRight shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
